Live jams, a car show, ballet, and sidewalk sales in Hudson County this weekend

A back to school jam for the teachers

Labor Day weekend has passed and students and teachers are back in school. Ti mark the event,  "Welcome Back Teachers" jam will take place on Friday, Sept 21, at the Factory in Jersey City from 4 to 8 p.m.

Leading the jam is Sunset Soundz, formerly known as the Sunset Band, a six piece ensemble led by original members Steve Pizzella and Tony Annacone. Their music ranges from hits in the 50's, 60's, and 70's, as well as contemporary Latin and country music.

"We're going to be playing a wide range of all styles for this show," said Pizzella, who performs on vocals and keyboards for the ensemble. "You could be sitting there for an hour not knowing any of songs but eventually you're going to hear something that fits your niche."

Pizzella and Annacone worked in the Jersey City school district for the past 30 years with the Child Study Team, where Pizzella worked as a school social worker and Annacone as a learning consultant. Some songs that can be heard at this weeks show will be "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow," "You Lost That Lovin' Feelin'," "Wagon Wheel," as well as songs from Donna Summers, Bruno Mars, and Earth Wind and Fire.
