NHP is investigating a crash that happened Sept. 14th that took two lives. NHP has identified 20 year old Eddie James Dunnet, of Schurz and 21 year old Sarah Lynn Sam, of Yerington as the two who died from injuries resulting in the crash. The crash was on US-95 Alternate and Lyon County mile marker 27. The preliminary investigation shows that a white 2016 Chevrolet Sonic was traveling southbound on US-95A near Lyon County mile marker 27. A white 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck was traveling northbound approaching the same location. The Chevrolet Sonic crossed into the northbound lane and continued to travel south, striking the Dodge Ram 2500 head-on. The driver of the Chevrolet Sonic, Dunnet and passenger Sam, were pronounced dead at the scene.
