Already available in the international market, the new-generation Suzuki Swift comes with a completely new design which is exactly similar to the existing Dzire sedan in India. The upcoming hatchback looks sportier and more stylish than the outgoing model and expected to offer a more premium interior as well. It will also get Maruti's new SmartPlay infotainment system with the 7-inch touchscreen and connectivity options like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The new version is based on Suzuki's new Heartect platform which also underpins the Baleno and the new Ertiga. The new platform offers a longer wheelbase and wider track, providing the car with more cabin as well as boot space than before. The design is lighter helping it to deliver better performance and fuel efficiency.
There will be no change in the powertrain options though. The new Maruti Swift will continue to offer the same 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre diesel engines. However, the Auto Gear Shift (AGS), which comes optional with selected variants, is said to be improved for a better driving experience.
"The all-new Swift with its distinctive design, advanced technology, uplifting performance and enduring driver experience will bring disruption in the premium hatchback segment," Kalsi said.
