Frampton Construction launched the Teknoware automotive project in Horry County.

The new office for a company that provides lighting in commercial trucks, on ships and on public places counts a Charleston company as its contractor.

Frampton Construction Co., LLC, broke ground on a new 46,028-square foot manufacturing facility for developer Agracel in Conway that includes a smaller operation for Teknoware. According to Charleston-based Frampton, the Finland-based company makes and supplies interior lighting systems for commercial vehicles and emergency lighting for public premises and vessels.

Construction in the Atlantic Center in Hoory County started in November. The project should be complete by May, the construction company says.

Teknoware customers include Alstom, Bombardier, Daimler, General Electric, Kawasaki, Siemens and Volvo.

Frampton Construction offers planning and design support, pre-construction, construction and sustainability services throughout the Carolinas.
