Police are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered “serious injuries” following a crash on Anglesey.

Emergency services were called shortly before 12.50pm today to the one-vehicle collision on the B5111 in Rhosybol.

It involved a blue Citroen Saxo.

The man, who was driving the car, was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor by ambulance with serious injuries.

Another person has also been taken to hospital.

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called today at approximately 12.50pm to reports of road traffic accident involving an overturned car in Rhosybol, Anglesey.

“We responded with one rapid response vehicle and one emergency ambulance, where two patients were taken to Gwynedd Hospital, Bangor.”

Officers are asking motorists to avoid the area and expect the road to be closed for some time. Diversions are in place.

Parents wanting to collect their children from the nearby primary school are being advised that they will be allowed pedestrian access.

Sergeant Jason Diamond of the Roads Policing Unit said: “We are appealing for witnesses and anybody who may have seen the collision or who may have seen the blue Citroen Saxo being driven prior to the collision, are asked to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit quoting reference number W099598.”
