Koenigsegg Agera Drag Races Regera, Destruction Occurs

Ever wondered how the Swiss drag racing landscape looks like? Surprise, surprise - with the millionaire population density in that part of the world being rather high, you can get to see sprinting confrontations involving the kind of machines most aficionados can only dream of. So let me just say we're here to discuss a velocity battle between a pair of Koenigseggs.

The two Angelholm machines got together at the latest edition of an even dubbed Supercar Owners Circle, which was held in Andermatt and hosted plenty of unbelivable matches such as this battle between the Porsche 918 Spyder and the Bugatti Chiron.

Noite that we're talking about two very different animals here, namely an Agera X and a Regera. The first is a one-off that comes from the three-digit output side of the Koenigsegg family tree, albeit only just, at it delivers 960 horsepower.

And while the Agera X sends its power to the rear wheels using a dual-clutch tranny that actually has just one input shaft (the second clutch is used to reduce the speed of this shaft for upshifts, so gear synchronizing takes place quicker), the Regera it went up against delivers a transmissionless driving experience .

In other words, the gearbox of the 1,500 hp hybrid we're talking about is replaced by a hydraulic coupling, since we're looking at Angelholm's Grand Tourer here. Oh, and this particular example is the Regera KNC, which means it sports the Swedish carmaker's naked carbon finish, while the little stickers on this side of the gas-electric hypercar talk about a recently inagurated Koenigsegg dealership in Switzerland.

Note that you'll get to see the two drag racing at the 1:46 point of the clip below. Spoiler alert: while some of the shifting mishaps might be on the driver, the takeoff should only be about the no-longer-fresh Launch Control tech on that X.

However, the bits of footage that follow are aslo worthy of one'd undivided attention. For instance, everybody's been talking about the Bugatti EB110 these days, thanks to the Centodieci bringing us a modern day interpretation of that 90s icon. Well, you can see the EB110 drag racing at the 3:32 point of the video.
