Police have released the image of a man they want to speak to after a driver paid £8,000 for a cloned car.

The victim saw the grey Nissan Qashqai on sale on Facebook and made contact with the seller.

She paid £8,000 for the car and was given a log book and MOT paperwork when she went to collect it from an address in Acocks Green.

But the documents turned out to be false and the police later told her the motor had been cloned.

West Midlands Police have released two images of a man who they want to speak to.

The force said: "We want to talk to him after a woman was sold a cloned car in Birmingham.

"The driver paid almost £8,000 for the grey Qashqai in July last year after seeing it for sale on Facebook.

"She was also handed a log book and MOT paperwork when she collected the car from an address in Acocks Green, but these documents and details were also false.

"As part of our on-going investigations we believe the man in the image has gone on to sell other cloned vehicles and we're keen to identify him."
