COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

An ambulance took at 19-year-old to St. Mary's Hospital with serious injuries after a crash east of Wardsville in Cole County on Thursday.

Cooper Smith, 19, of Jefferson City, was driving on Blackberry Lane when his 2019 Kia Forte went off the road, hit a trash can and a guy wire and overturned, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. Smith was wearing a seat belt, the patrol reported.

The damage to the vehicle was moderate and it was taken from the scene by a private party, the report says.
