Police have launched an investigation after three cars were set on fire in Broxburn.

Officers were called to Old Town, Broxburn around 12.40am on Sunday, July 18 following a report of cars on fire.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended and extinguished the fires safely. There were no reports of any injuries.

Three cars, a silver Mercedes, a Nissan Micra and a Vauxhall Corsa were destroyed as a result and the fire is currently being treated as suspicious.

Officers are keen to trace two men seen in the area around the time.

The first is described as being in his late 40s to early 50s with short grey hair. The second is described as being of a similar age and possibly wearing glasses.

Detective Constable Laura Hanlon said: “Thankfully no-one was injured as a result of this incident.

“I am appealing for anyone who noticed anyone acting suspicious in the area or anything they think may assist to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone with dashcam footage that could be of assistance to contact us.”
