A 57-year-old man is dead after a car crash in Sunday afternoon, Sept. 12, in Bottineau County.
According to a release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the man was traveling south on Bottineau County 57, 15 miles northeast of Bottineau, in a Mercury Grand Marquis just after 6:30 p.m. Sunday when his car left the gravel roadway, entered the east ditch and struck a tree in a ravine. The driver was found unresponsive at the scene and pronounced dead. He was not wearing safety restraints, according to the release.
The identity of the driver has not yet been released pending family notification. The crash remains under active investigation by NDHP. Bottineau County Sheriff and Bottineau Fire and Ambulance also responded to the crash.
