A 34-year-old man has died following a crash in Wrexham yesterday evening.

It happened shortly after 8.20pm, on the B5102 , between Rossett and Holt, near to Parkside and involved a red Mitsubishi L200 truck.

Emergency services including North Wales Police (NWP), the Welsh Ambulance Service (WAS) and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service (NWFRS) attended.

James Edward Clutton, from Wrexham, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sergeant Stephen Richards from the Roads Policing Unit said: “I offer my deepest condolences to the family at this difficult time.

“The incident happened on the Rossett Road, near to Parkside, sometime between 8pm and 8.30pm yesterday evening.

“I am appealing to anyone who was travelling in the area who witnessed the collision or may have dashcam footage, to get in touch with police as soon as possible.

NWFRS sent two engines and the technical rescue unit from Wrexham, after being called at 8.31pm.

A Welsh Ambulance Service (WAS) spokesman said they were called at 8.33pm and sent one ambulance to the scene.

The road was closed following the crash, with people advised to avoid the area. It re-opened at 4.40am this morning (October 1).

The family have asked for privacy at this time.
