You may have read a recent article we wrote about StreetSpeed717's YouTube channel purchasing a new (to him) 2001 Burgundy quad cab Dodge Ram 2500 which sits on 51-inch military-grade tires. Five, yes five, days later, we're told the Dodge truck has exploded! It isn't too long into the video at the 56-second mark that we can see why.

Getting Air In The Dodge 2500 Ram Monster Truck

The video shows the truck making a jump OVER the same gully that the boys got stuck in sideways in their last video. This means they are making a jump the exact length of the truck itself, which is roughly 20 feet! The weight of the truck, including those four 51-inch tires, definitely makes that an incredible feat. Unfortunately, the drive shaft ends up exploding out of the transmission and thankfully nobody got hurt. The 59-second mark shows the boys from the inside making the jump and bracing for impact in a very nostalgic Dukes of Hazzard type of way.

The boys decide to take the truck into town to wash it and fill up the gas tank. Unfortunately for them, it isn't long before the local police department sees the truck and makes a beeline towards it. They approach the truck, which the boys have nicknamed Buck, smiling and telling our presenter to be careful with it. The police continue saying that they should not bring it on the highway, to which they respond that the truck's comfort zone is only around 30 mph, so they wouldn't attempt to bring it on the highway. They all agree that the best thing is to just bring the truck back to the farm and leave it there. The message from the police is ultimately to be safe with the truck.

At the 13:15 mark in the video, the boys get to the gas station and quite literally jump out of the truck. They decide that even though it's a 21-year-old truck, they will put in the “good stuff” gas. He tells us that “those who shall not be named who are responsible for the soaring gas prices” are killing the monster truck category.

After reaching over his head to put the pump into the filler tube, he shares with us that the truck is maxing out at $125 to fill up. He half jokingly tells us if you can't drive this around reasonably, then what CAN you do? To this YouTuber, though, the smiles from kids that he gets from the truck is worth every penny. Apparently, even the cops even love it!
