Happy Thanksgiving to all of you from us here at HotCars! We hope the holiday period is a joyous one for you all, and that you have a lot to be thankful for. We certainly are here at HotCars. Throughout this year there have been some epic cars, and epic moments in the automotive world. Supercars have launched, Nissan have brought out their new Z sports car and so much more. But what about the car we are most thankful for?

That would have to be the new Ford Mustang. Earlier in 2022, Ford unveiled the new 2024 Mustang, with the popular muscle car set to flex those muscles for yet another generation. Three awesome engines are available for the latest and greatest in the Ford lineup, and they look to have got it spot on. But why are we so thankful for it? Well, this could become the last ever internal-combustion engine powered version of this car. With Dodge bringing electric power to their muscle cars, Ford may well follow suit for the next generation Mustang. We are so thankful though that is not the case right now.

The newest generation in the Mustang family packs a lot of punch. Three engine options are on offer for the 2024 Mustang. The starting point for this is the MPC 2.3-liter Ford EcoBoost inline-four engine. This is a brand-new engine that has both port and direct injection, helping with the emissions of the car. Then we have the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 engine, perhaps the highlight of the Ford Mustang and certainly the main focal point.

This is the fourth generation of that engine, and it had a huge emissions update in 2021 in anticipation of the 14th generation F-150 pickup truck. Finally, there is the incredible Dark Horse Coyote V8 engine. This is especially for the Mustang Dark Horse edition, with it producing over 500 hp of V8 goodness for the special Mustang. Ford took a lot of technology from the Shelby GT500 such as the forged crankshaft to help make this one of the best Mustangs of the modern era. There is every chance Ford has made it the best modern Mustang of all time.

What Makes Us So Grateful For The New Mustang

Dodge have shown us that the era of internal combustion power in a muscle car is soon to disappear. The Charger Daytona SRT Concept was the first time an all-electric muscle car had come from one of the major manufacturers. And while the word “Concept” was in the name, don’t let that fool you. This car will go into production, with perhaps just a few subtle changes to its appearance and interior. Time waits for no one, and least of all the muscle car. The world is not the same as in the glory days of the 1960s and 1970s.

There were plenty of rumors about a possible hybrid or electric Mustang in this new generation. But Ford certainly surprised people when they revealed none of those powertrains would feature in the next iteration of the Mustang. This certainly shows that, in regard to the immediate future, an electric Mustang is not at the top of Ford’s priority list. This is incredibly refreshing to hear. We fully expect electric power to come to the Mustang soon. But we are thankful we can experience the raw power of a V8 Mustang for just a little longer.

The Modern Muscle Car We All Want

Ford have created a sharp and exciting looking muscle car as well as one that has the raw power we would expect from a name like Mustang. The Mustang has a very menacing yet also quite sleek level of styling, with the front fascia removing some of the awkwardness that we could see on the previous generation of the muscle car. The aggression is very welcome given that in modern times, car designs are often quite uninspiring and conform to quite a plain level of styling. Ford though have nailed it with this latest Mustang.

A Car To Truly Be Thankful For

We are so thankful that we have not seen the last of a V8 powered Mustang. Ford has given us hope that we can experience this power for that little longer than we all thought. A muscle car should have raw power at its heart, and make a loud noise. While electric and more sustainable power methods must come to help the planet, we can still miss what came before. For that, we are thankful for what Ford did. From all of us here at HotCars, we wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving of 2022.
