Car advice website Rerev has conducted a study to determine the most anticipated electric vehicles of 2023.

And the site's analysts chose Google searches during two months as their measure of anticipation.

The winner is the Tesla Cybertruck, which generated more than twice the number of Google searches than the other nine vehicles on the list combined.

The runner-up was the Mercedes - Benz EQS, which garnered 231,510 searches, followed by the Jeep Avenger with 173,480 searches.

The fourth on the list is the Audi A6 E-Tron, with 128,690 searches, followed by the Kia EV9 (79,490).

Rerev reports the Cybertruck was helped by Elon Musk posting a video on Twitter showing the elusive EV pickup at Tesla Engineering Headquarters.

This explosion of interest in the Cybertruck over 24 hours is what inspired the company to look at the broader market of EVs arriving this year.

Their findings clearly reveal decent interest in many of the vehicles on this list, despite the Cybertruck running away with the title of "Most Anticipated."

According to Tesla boss Elon Musk, the Tesla Cybertruck is almost ready for deliveries to commence later this year.

The original Cybertruck concept surprised the automotive world with its dramatic angular lines and features.

And the vehicle comes with a lockable 2,832-litre load bed carrying items up to 1,981mm long.

The production of this vehicle would use a cast aluminium section at the rear, produced using an 8,000-ton Giga Press machine at the Texas factory.

Elon Musk claims that he wants to produce 250,000 Cybertrucks annually.
