Report: Largest Source of Stolen Guns Are From Parked Cars

Guns stolen from parked cars have become the largest source of stolen firearms in the U.S., with an estimated 40,000 guns stolen from cars in 271 cities in 2020 according to a report by Everytown for Gun Safety.
The new study reveals that gun thefts from cars are increasing in parallel with rising rates of gun sales and violence.
This has led to proposals being made to encourage or even mandate gun owners to store their weapons in lockable gun boxes in their vehicles. Gun rights advocates believe it to be an onerous burden.
