It’s Pi Day, and local bakeries and pizzerias alike are celebrating with sweet and savory deals in honor of that important figure, 3.14.
From $3.14-per-slice discounts to treat boxes and taste tests, here’s a look at some of the Pi Day specials happening in Arlington and Falls Church today.
Pie deals and events
Acme Pie Co.
Deal: $3.14 per slice
The deal applies to all dine-in slices of Acme’s handmade pies, from apple to blueberry lemon curd and a selection of savory pies. The shop’s special holiday hours are from noon to 7 p.m., before it relocates.
“Help us honor everyone’s favorite irrational number with everyone’s favorite (and very rational) dessert,” the shop wrote on Facebook.

Bakeshop
Deal: $3.14 per slice, or a whole pie for $31.40 (normally $36-$38)
While supplies last, order slices or whole pies, with options like key lime, Nutella, coconut cream and bourbon chocolate pecan in Arlington and Falls Church. The bakery is also hosting a Pi Day social media raffle and giving away a free, full-size icebox pie to three as-yet unannounced winners.

Livin’ The Pie Life
Deal: Three mini pies and a surprise treat for $14
Livin’ The Pie Life is giving away special Pi Day treat boxes today, available for online order and pickup. Each box comes with three mini pies and a surprise baked good. Choose between three combinations, with pie flavors like chocolate caramel chess, cherry crumb and brown butter coconut.
Three lucky customers will also receive a $20 “golden ticket” gift certificate in the bottom of their treat box, “Willy Wonka style.”

The bookshop is hosting a Pi(e) Day Celebration and pie taste test with Brian Noyes, cookbook author and founder of the award-winning Red Truck Bakery in Marshall. Attendees will hear from Noyes and taste some of the pies featured in his cookbook. The event is from 4-5 p.m. and registration is available online.
