Nicki Chapman was a music publicist whose PR company worked with the likes of the Spice Girls, Amy Winehouse and Billie Piper. In the early 2000s she became a judge on the ITV talent shows Pop Idol and Popstar, with Simon Cowell, Pete Waterman and Neil Fox. She now presents the BBC’s Escape to the Country and has a radio show, Mellow Magic, on Magic Radio. Chapman, 58, who in 2019 had surgery to remove a non-cancerous brain tumour, lives in west London with her husband, Dave “Shacky” Shackleton, a former vice-president of Sony BMG who co-manages Iron Maiden and is the MD of Phantom Music.
