Five people were killed in separate crashes on Arkansas roads last week, preliminary reports from law enforcement state.
Timothy Spence, 63, of Jonesboro died around 7:05 p.m. on March 12 after the 2020 Ram 2500 truck he was driving west on Arkansas 312 in rural Mississippi County collided with a stationary 2000 John Deere tractor in the east side of the Interstate 55 overpass, according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.
Chay Heggie, 40, of Vilonia was killed around 8:58 p.m. Thursday when the 2023 Kia Sportage she was driving west on Cleland Road near Cabot crossed the center line and struck an eastbound 2007 GMC Sierra, a report from the Pulaski County sheriff's office states.
Heggie's Kia fishtailed and ran off the road, striking a tree and catching fire, the report states. No other injuries were reported.
Paydon Fairris, 19, of El Dorado was killed around 9:28 p.m. Thursday when the 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle he was riding north on College Avenue in El Dorado collided with a 2016 Toyota Rav4 turning left onto College Avenue from Grove Street, a report from police in that city states.
Fairris was thrown from the motorcycle on impact, the report states.
Charles Watson, 67, of North Little Rock was killed around 10:23 p.m. Thursday when an eastbound 2008 Honda struck him as he was walking east in the roadway of U.S. 70 in North Little Rock, according to a report from state police.
Christopher Guerber, 42, of Paris was killed around 9:06 p.m. Saturday when the 2023 Hyundai Elantra he was driving south on Arkansas 109 near Paris left the road near Brushy Mountain Road and hit a tree, according to a report from state police.
Officers investigating each of the collisions reported that the weather was clear and the road was dry at the time.
