Since the Dark is mechanically identical to the Scrambler Icon, it retains the same air/oil-cooled, 803cc V-twin engine, producing 73hp and 65.2Nm of torque. At 176 kg (wet weight, no fuel), the Icon Dark is on the lighter side compared to other big-capacity motorcycles in India. Aiding its manageability quotient is the 795mm seat height, which can go down further to 780mm or up to 810mm with the accessory seats.

The Scrambler Icon Dark shares its main frame, cycle parts, and electronics package with the Icon. In its second generation, the Scrambler now comes with a TFT display, ride-by-wire, cornering ABS, and traction control.
