CHICO, Calif. — The Pajouh Automotive Center in Chico is hosting an electric vehicle open house until 7 p.m. Thursday, showcasing the latest models, including the Cadillac Escalade IQ.
Representatives at the event emphasized that now is an opportune time to switch to an electric vehicle, as anticipated tariffs are expected to increase the prices of vehicles and the raw materials used in their manufacture, such as steel and aluminum. Additionally, the $7,500 tax credit may be repealed shortly.
"Currently we have the tax credits that are available on all electric vehicles. There are talks that [it] may go away, so without taking the chance of losing that, I think this is a great time to buy an electric vehicle if you’re in the market. The selection of vehicles are great and they all have all kinds of different options, the technology is amazing in them, so the time to buy is now," said Jerry Pajouh, Center Operator and Dealer Principal at Pajouh Automotive.
Pajouh also noted that electric vehicle inventory has increased due to California emissions standards aimed at reducing air pollution.
The highlight of the event, the IQ, boasts a range of 460 miles before needing to recharge. Charging station locations are also increasing across the state, along with the availability of at-home charging options that allow drivers to start each day with a 'full tank.' These features address common concerns regarding mileage and access to charging stations.
For those unable to attend the event, Pajouh invites the public to visit anytime to test drive or learn more about electric options. Pajouh Automotive Center is located at 13330 Garner Lane in Chico.
