PITTSFIELD TWP., MI — A man who died earlier this month after being struck by a car while crossing an intersection near Ann Arbor has been identified.
Derrick Sellers, 42, was fatally struck Wednesday, March 5, while crossing Carpenter Road, Pittsfield Township Police Chief Patrick Gray said.

Around 7:40 p.m., a 44-year-old man was driving a Ford Escape south on Carpenter Road near the Packard Road intersection when Sellers crossed in the crosswalk in front of the car. The driver had a green signal, police said.
Sellers was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was uninjured.
He is the second person to die at a Carpenter Road intersection this year. Hanin Mohammed Soby, 26, was killed Jan. 6 after she crossed a Carpenter Road intersection south of Packard Road against a “do not walk” signal.
