A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in a traffic accident early Saturday morning in Ghajnsielem, Gozo.
Police said that the accident happened at around 5:45am on Triq l-Imgarr, when a Yamaha motorbike collided with an Otokar bus.
The motorbike was being ridden by a 32-year old man from Victoria. The bus was driven by a 31-year old man, a resident of St Paul’s Bay.
A medical team provided first assistance at the scene before the motorcyclist was taken to the Gozo General Hospital for treatment. He was later certified to have sustained serious injuries and was transferred to Mater Dei Hospital for further medical care.
Magistrate Brigitte Sultana has launched an inquiry into the accident.
Police investigations are ongoing.
