It’s been almost a decade since Shaye and Rob first jetted out to their South Pacific retreat.
The Australian citizens were drawn to the five-bedroom, four-bathroom villa estate on Espiritu Santo, the largest island in Vanuatu, in about 2017.
Famed for its pristine beaches, coral reefs and coconut palms, Villa Sarami provided them with seclusion.
With only one neighbour, and a private beach they also enjoyed peace and quiet.
Yet, eight years on, Shaye and Rob’s circumstances have changed. They now live in Saudi Arabia and have little spare time to return for visits.
The villa is on the market with Sam Lewis with Ray White Vanuatu. It has a price guide of $2,997,000.
“Shaye and Rob fell in love with Santo around eight years ago but now find it difficult to visit Villa Sarami frequently due to work commitments,” Lewis told Domain.
He said the property can accommodate eight guests, with each of the villas having its own adjoining bathroom. Each villa is connected by a covered timber walkway.
The estate, according to the listing, also has a fully equipped kitchen, entertainment pavilion with a BBQ area and tropical garden retreat space.
For time outside of the ocean, there is an infinity-edge pool.
“Villa Sarami has amazing views of the nearby surrounding islands of Aese and Mavea which are around 3km from the beach,” he said.
“On a clear day it is also possible to see the volcano on Ambae island which is around 50km offshore.”
The villa is also close to the breathtaking RiRi and Matevulu Blue Holes. It is also a quick 20 minute ride away from Luganville, Santo’s main town for any supplies.
The area has also retained some war artifacts left from visiting troops in the 1940s.
“The property is located across from hospital hill which still retains some war artifacts left by the Americans when they set their bases up in 1942. The nearby surrounding areas of Villas Sarami has many war relics for those history buffs,” Lewis said.
