LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A motorcyclist was killed in a collision on Saturday evening according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The crash occurred at approximately 6:19 p.m. on W. Lake Mead Boulevard, west of Del Webb Boulevard.
According to evidence and witness statements, a 2025 Yamaha R7 motorcycle was traveling west at a high rate of speed when it collided with a 2005 Lexus LS430.
The Lexus, driven by an 80-year-old woman with an 84-year-old passenger, was traveling east and turned left to enter a private drive when the motorcycle struck it.
Police say, the motorcyclist was ejected onto the roadway, and both vehicles came to rest.
Medical personnel transported the motorcyclist and both occupants of the Lexus to the University Medical Center's Trauma Unit.
Despite life-saving efforts, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
The Lexus driver and passenger were treated for minor injuries and released.
Police said the driver of the Lexus did not display any signs of impairment.
This incident marks the 38th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction for 2025.
The collision remains under investigation by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section.
