LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — Loved ones are remembering the motorcyclist who passed away Tuesday due to injuries from a crash.
On Tuesday morning, Lynchburg Police said 33-year-old Maquale Moon was driving northbound on 29 when he lost control, hit the center median, and landed on the other side of the road.
Moon had been transported to Lynchburg General Hospital, where he later succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash.
LaWanda Williams and her daughter, Donice Williams, were close friends with Moon.
LaWanda was an RN at Virginia Baptist Hospital for many years, when Moon worked inside the cafeteria.
"He was the face of the Virginia Baptist cafeteria. He has this cute smile," LaWanda said.

Donice Williams said Moon was a bright light gone too soon.
He had such a bright, uplifting spirit and everybody loved him in the community. His family loved him he would always make you laugh all the time," Donice said.
Donice said he was like a big brother.
"He took me under his wing like a little sister, he was always there supporting me," Donice said.
LaWanda said Moon's laughter and joy were contagious.
He would get a side eye look and as soon as we saw it we knew it was on. He had this funniness about him that made everybody laugh. So, you could be having a bad day and as soon as you saw Maquale he uplifted your spirit immediately," LaWanda said.
As the Williams grapple with grief, their faith gives them comfort.
"I think about the Word, and it says in Psalms 90:12, that we are to live life with a purpose, with wisdom. I do feel like Maquale lived that. Just knowing that he is with the Lord gives me comfort," LaWanda said.
All will miss Moon.
"I will miss him a lot he will always be my boo," Lawanda said.
His birthday would've been April 1.
They hope to do something to honor Moon.
"Hopefully, we can do something to honor his birthday and memory," Donice said.
Friends ask that you pray for healing for his family during this unimaginable time.
LPD is still investigating the crash.
