Police are appealing for information to find men on the run, after a police chase ended in a crash leaving a woman critical and a man with life-changing injuries. It happened on Monday in the Belgrave Road area of Wrexham.

A North Wales Police statement yesterday (Wednesday) said: "We continue to appeal for information to locate two men who left the scene of a road traffic collision in Wrexham.

"The incident took place shortly after 9.30pm on Monday, 24 March in Hightown, between Belgrave Road and Percy Road, as a silver Mercedes car made off from police.

"Extensive investigations are ongoing to locate two men, the driver and a passenger of the Mercedes, who were involved in a collision with a Toyota car.

"The occupants of the Toyota, a man and a woman, were subsequently taken to Stoke hospital with serious injuries. The woman remains in a critical condition, while the man continues to receive treatment for life-changing injuries."

Detective Chief Superintendent Sian Beck added: “Our thoughts are very much with the man and woman who remain in hospital, and their family, who are being supported by specialist officers.

“Detectives continue to follow every line of enquiry to locate the two men who left the scene of the incident, and I am asking anyone who has not already spoken to us, and has information that could assist with our investigation, to contact us as soon as possible.

“You can contact us on 101, or via the website, using reference number 25000244712. You can also make a report anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
