Community invited to 11th annual Ride for Soldiers benefit for Veterans Guest House
RENO, Nev. (KOLO) - The 11th annual Ride for Soldiers, hosted by the Street Kings Motorcycle Club, will return Saturday, March 29 to honor the memory of Andrey Lee and benefit the Veterans Guest House (VGH), a local nonprofit dedicated to ensuring veterans and their families have access to the medical care they need.
KOLO 8′s Jayde Ryan visited the nonprofit today and spoke with Kathi McGathey, director of operations for VGH, and a representative from Street Kings.
Those who wish to ride with the group can register at the Veterans Guest House (880 Locust Street) beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 29. Starting promptly at 11:30 a.m., the riders will make their way through town to the Nevada Veterans Memorial Plaza at the Sparks Marina, then to Revision Brewing Company for food, music, raffle prizes and trophies. Tickets are available at $20 for single riders and $30 for double riders.
The Street Kings Motorcycle Club was established in June of 2007 and has worked with the Veterans Guest House for an annual ride since 2018. Andrey Lee, a veteran and son of the Street King Motorcycle Club founder, was lost in a motorcycle accident on March 30, 2014.
