McFly star Danny Jones' wife Georgia has posted a gushing tribute to the person she describes as her 'rock' as she and her husband look to get past the ongoing scandal over Danny's highly-publicised kiss with Maura Higgins.

Maura and Danny were pictured kissing after the Brit Awards earlier this month, with the musician subsequently issuing an apology to his family for the public display of affection with his I'm a Celeb campmate. Longford native Maura has remained quiet on the scandal.

It was reported by The Mirror that Danny's wife, Georgia, had temporarily moved out of the family home but has since returned in an attempt to work through the issue.

As the couple, who share son Cooper together, try to navigate their way through the scandal, Georgia has taken to social media to praise her 'rock' in a gushing social media post for her best friend, Buffy Riley.

Georgia wrote: "My buff I cannot explain what a force you have been for me.

"You have been my rock, my person, my manager... But you know a million times more than that. I cannot wait for you to by mummy. You know I am gonna sit in your garden with you for the next year."

This follows reports that Georgia has returned to the family home, having taken some time to process matters by temporarily moving out. The Mirror reports that Georgia never intended to leave for good but simply wanted to "decompress" after the intense period of stress.

"This wasn’t some grand gesture where she suddenly packed her bags and left," a source told the publication. "It was just a girlie few nights at a close pal’s flat. Yes, she wanted some space, but she is home now, and while things are still fragile, they are trying to work things through."

A different source has revealed that "the break has done Georgia a world of good. Being out of the house and with her friend Rose Mahon was what she needed to clear her head. Her relationship with Danny was pushed to breaking point, and they are still trying to work out what they want."

While Maura remains silent on the matter, having jetted to the United States for a photoshoot, Danny issued a grovelling apology to his family.

In a statement, the McFly singer said: "Hello everyone, sorry it's taken me a while to post this but I've taken some time out to be with those closest to me. I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much and we'll continue to deal with this privately.

"I love you guys, thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny."
