Newark, NJ (WAFF) - The Alabama Crimson Tide’s quest for a national championship ended with a brutal 85-65 defeat at the hands of the storied Duke Blue Devils Saturday night.

The Tide fell behind early and never seemed to be able to catch up. They were down 7-12 points throughout most of the contest. Muscle Shoals stand-out senior Mark Sears was kept in check, held to just 6 points. Labaron Philon led the Tide with 16 points on the night.

Duke’s Kon Knueppel led the Blue Devils with 21 points. Tyrese Proctor and Cooper Flagg were right behind him with 17and 16 points respectively.

Duke will go on to face the winner of Sunday’s Tennessee vs. Houston game.
