A Beaverton man died Friday night after authorities suspect his Chevrolet work van crashed head-on into a Suburban in Clackamas County, the local sheriff’s office said in a news release.

The driver of the Suburban, a woman from Woodburn, and her 6-year-old son survived the crash.

Van driver Tyler Ryan Sahnow, of Beaverton, died at the scene, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Authorities responded to the crash on South Kropf Road, about 10 miles south of Canby, just after 5 p.m., Friday. They found the 2017 Chevy Suburban flipped on its side in a ditch, and the 2012 Chevrolet Express work van on the other side of the road. A preliminary investigation of the crash suggests that the van veered out of its lane and hit the Suburban, the news release said.

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line at 503-723-4949.
