NORTHERN MICHIGAN — Due to power outages caused by this weekend’s ice storms, Munson Healthcare announced that some of its hospitals are operating under generator power.

According to a press release, hospitals in Charlevoix, Gaylord and Grayling are open but operating under generator power as of 1 p.m. on Sunday. Munson Healthcare facilities in Cadillac, Frankfort, Manistee and Traverse City have not been impacted. Urgent care, walk-in clinics and ambulatory sites in affected communities are closed until normal power is returned.

Munson officials urge anyone experiencing a medical emergency in areas affected by the storm to continue to call 911 or seek care at the nearest emergency department, but to exercise caution as many roads are icy or obstructed by fallen trees and power lines.
