The Brevard County Sheriff's Office has identified the man charged in the Interstate 95 crash that killed three people.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Vernon Hodges was traveling over 100 miles per hour, according to the arrest affidavit.
When troopers attempted to pull Hodges over, he allegedly sped off while weaving through traffic.
While trying to run away, the FHP said Hodges crashed into a truck and a tow truck, killing three people.
Alicia Carter, 31, Eleasya Fulton, 24, and Leon Holmes, 41, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers said they found an open bottle of Corona beer in the rear passenger's seat.
Troopers conducted a blood test and report Hodges had a .147 blood-alcohol content.
Hodges' license had been suspended for previous DUI charges.
He is expected back in court later in April.
