SPRINGFIELD, Ore. — Around 6:45 Thursday morning (April 10), the Springfield Police Department received a call of a traffic crash involving a vehicle striking a power pole on Gateway Street, near Postal Way.
The initial caller witnessed the involved vehicle driving over a median in the area just prior to the crash.
Upon arrival at the crash scene, responding officers located a white 2015 Chrysler 300 and found 39-year-old Nichole Taylor in the driver’s seat.
She was transported by medics to an area hospital for treatment.
"During the investigation it was found that Taylor’s driving privileges were suspended, and she had a blood alcohol content (BAC) of more than .50% at the time of the crash, which is nearly seven (7) times the legal limit of .08%," Springfield PD stated.
Taylor was charged with reckless driving, driving under the influence of intoxicants, and driving with a suspended driver’s license.
