Springfield DUII crash

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. -- A 39-year-old woman who was allegedly driving at more than six times the legal blood-alcohol content level when she crashed her car into a power pole is now facing multiple charges, according to the Springfield Police Department.

SPD officials said they responded at shortly before 7 a.m. on April 10 to a traffic crash in which a vehicle had struck a power pole on Gateway Street near Postal Way. The initial reporting caller told dispatchers that they’d seen the involved vehicle drive over a median in the area just prior to the crash, police said. Authorities said responding officers arrived to find a white 2015 Chrysler 300 at the crash scene whose driver, identified as Nichole Taylor, was in the driver’s seat. Police learned that Taylor had a suspended license and determined that she had a blood-alcohol content of more than 0.50 at the time of the crash, which is nearly seven times the legal limit of 0.08. Medical professionals say that a BAC of 0.40 is considered to be a lethal level.

Taylor is now facing charges of reckless driving, driving under the influence of intoxicants, and driving with a suspended driver’s license, according to the Springfield police.
