EUGENE, Ore. – A man and two children are in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a possible medical incident led to a head-on crash right outside Shasta Middle School on Monday morning, Eugene police said.
According to the Eugene Police Department, officers responded to a reported two-vehicle crash at Barger Road and Primrose Street near an entrance to Shasta Middle School at about 8:52 a.m. on April 14. Police said they arrived to find a head-on crash involving an Audi S3 with a 35-year-old driver and four child passengers, and a Ford F-150 with a 61-year-old driver. Police said two children and the driver of the Audi were taken to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
According to Eugene police, an investigation found the Audi’s driver was going westbound on Barger Drive when he likely suffered a medical incident. Police said the Audi driver narrowly missed a crosswalk guard and school children in a crosswalk before striking the F-150, which was stopped in eastbound traffic on Barger Drive, head-on. Police said there was no indication of alcohol impairment.
