In order to meet the needs of the population, it is necessary to increase the production of cars to 220,000-230,000 units of vehicles per year, said the message of Uzbekistan's "Uzavtosanoat" JSC.
The company said that in the country, with population of over 32 million people, there is a huge potential for further development of industrial production and improvement of growth rate of the automotive market.
"Uzavtosanoat" JSC and the enterprises of the automotive industry of the country earned 130.3 billion soums of net profit in 2017.
Some 6.5 billion soums (5 percent of the profits) have been allocated for the formation of the reserve fund and the sponsorship and charity fund. The company has allocated 90 percent of net profit - 117.3 billion soums for augmentation of the authorized capital, said the message.
According to the official data, GM Uzbekistan JV OJSC company manufactured 140,247 passenger cars in 2017, the growth rate amounted to 59% compared to 2016.
Some 3,600 trucks and buses were manufactured at the Samarkand Automobile Factory LLC, the growth rate amounted to 5.5 percent. The MAN Auto-Uzbekistan JV LLC released 1,200 trucks and buses.
