ST. LOUIS — A 32-year-old woman who previously admitted to destroying evidence in a 2023 homicide case is now charged in the murder.
City prosecutors say Nichole Birr set up the drug deal that resulted in Tyrone Wilson's death on Aug. 2, 2023.
Birr drove Wilson to the scene on Brantner Place in the city's Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood to meet with a potential marijuana buyer, court documents say.
Wilson and the buyer argued, and Wilson was shot. Birr then took Wilson's drugs and phone and left, court documents say.
Two days later, Birr took the car in which Wilson was shot and traded it in for a Nissan Altima. The dealer noticed damage from shots that had been fired inside the vehicle.
Birr then left for Florida where she was arrested.
Initially, Birr was indicted in federal court with destroying evidence. She pleaded guilty last year and was sentenced to more than seven years in prison.
